Finding the right HVAC contractor for your home can be a challenge. Your home’s heating, air conditioning, and ventilation is a complex system that requires specialized expertise. Upper Peninsula HVAC contractors must also be licensed by the state of Michigan. Before you hire an HVAC technician, make sure you ask these questions.
“What is your Mechanical Contractor’s License number?”
Michigan requires that all HVAC contractors and technicians hold a valid Mechanical Contractor’s license. You can check any HVAC contractor’s license status on the Bureau of Construction Codes License Search website here.
“Are your technicians NATE Certified?”
North American Technician Excellence, or NATE, is the leading certification for technicians in the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry. Technicians can hold more than one NATE certification, including air conditioning, air distribution, heat pumps, gas heating, oil heating, and several others.
NATE is a non-profit industry standards group that is supported by the industry.
