HVAC Contractors Welcome Lower Gasoline Prices this Summer

ON THE ROAD AGAIN: According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, a gallon of gasoline will average $1.89 in 2016 and $1.97 in 2017. This is welcome news to HVAC contractors who operate large fleets of vehicles, such as St. Louis-based Welsch Heating & Cooling Co., which may have as many as 50 vehicles on the road on any given day. The gasoline price extremes of just a few short years ago now seem like relics of a bygone era. The average price for a gallon of gas in 2012 was $3.68, per the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). Prices averaged $2.43 in 2015 and are expected to maintain similar or lower prices throughout 2016 and into 2017.
